Fall 2024

Allison Whittenberg

fighting for peace, or repose

soldiers train to fall asleep in two minutes

yogist fall asleep in two breaths

 it's been two consecutive sleepless

and my eyes are on fire

given time, more time, I will locate peace

I lost it somehow, somewhere

the poise of repose

I have been a soldier

I have studied contrology

I am falling through the earth

to land in

another world
